New way of insuring cars paid for by the mile

In 2008, OneSoon were contracted by the the UK's largest supplier of interactive online insurance sales platforms to provide a database application for a new Pay As You Drive Insurance Service.

The tracking database keeps account of every mile driven, so the user knows exactly how many miles have been used, when they were driven and the cost. Like a utility bill, monthly payment adjustments can be made if more or less miles than expected have been used. Discounts are also applied depending on the time of day the vehicle is driven.

OneSoon designed and built the database application and rules engine that generates insurance charges from the vehicle telematics data.
